Trade Sales:
Barnes & Noble, Ingram, Borders, Waldenbooks, Baker & Taylor, Books-A-Million and Amazon.com account for over 80% of trade book revenue in the U.S. In Canada, one retail chain, Indigo/Chapters accounts for close to 50% of the trade revenue. Mint Publishers is a direct vendor of record with all of these accounts. We view each of these accounts as critical to the success of our client publishers and focus our sales and marketing efforts accordingly.
Superstores: Barnes & Noble operates 600 stores and Borders with over 400. We also have vendor of record status at Indigo in Canada.
Mall stores: Waldenbooks (Borders ) 800, B. Dalton (B&N) 300 and 300 Coles (Indigo,Canada) stores in malls.
Books-A-Million/AWBC: Many of their 180 stores, located in the Southeast, are large format.
Amazon.com: All client publisher's titles will be listed on this site in addition to those of other on-line retailers, notably Barnesnandnoble.com, Booksamillion.com, Powells.com, Indigo.ca and Amazon.ca.
Independent Booksellers: Mint Publishers Group services independent booksellers through sales reps, wholesalers, and telemarketing. We have a database of over 500 core stores in the US that represent over 80% of the US independent bookstore market. We view the wholesaler as the critical link to this channel. The wholesale network in Canada is limited and thus selling to the bookstores, directly, is crucial.
